The new 360 GTC was unveiled to the press at the Bologna Motor Show on the 4th of December 2003. The Show is open to the public from the 6th until the 14th of December. The 360 GTC is a development of the official works 360 GT introduced in 2002 and is aimed at the international FIA N-GT and the ACO Le Mans series championships. The GTC version incorporates a number of modifications introduced during the 2003 season and includes minor retouches to the aerodynamics, a new sequential 6-speed gearbox, a new electronics package developed by Magneti Marelli, and a number of minor revisions to the engine which allow it to now develop 445 bhp at 8,750 rpm. The intake system consists of air induction limited by two restrictors 30.8 mm (as per FIA N-GT rules) placed at the entry of the air box, opening by 2 mechanical throttles. The homologation for the 360 GTC is based on the road-going Challenge Stradale which has permitted Ferrari’s engineers to substantially modify the aerodynamics with a new front bumper, side skirts and engine cover. A modified twin rear diffuser has been incorporated at the rear of the underbody and wind tunnel research has led to a new rear wing design that brings a notable increase in downforce. The 360 GTC will be available for the 2004 season and is sold directly by Ferrari’s Corse Clienti division. |
