 AM  America  In the early days several models got the addition America. In the serial numbers
 the letters AM were used.
 AT  America Tubolare  Used in several serial numbers.
 C  Corsa  Used in several serial numbers. Race versions of road cars.
 CM  Carrera Messicana  Famous race in Mexico. Used in some serial numbers of cars.
 Dino  son of Enzo  Died young because of a rare illness. Several cars were named after him
 (sometimes badged too). Dino models had relatively small engines, mainly 4
 cylinders.
 DNF  did not finish  did not finish the race
 DNS  did not start  did not start the race
 E  Export  Before the fifties some Ferraris were typed as Export. In the serial number the
 letter E was used.
 ED  Export Tubolare  Used in several serial numbers.
 EL  Export Longo  Used in several serial numbers.
 ES  Export Sport  Used in several serial numbers.
 ET  Export Tubolare  Used in several serial numbers.
 EU  Export Europa  Used in several serial numbers.
 F  Formula  Used in serial numbers for F1 cars.
 FL  Formula Libre  Used in several serial numbers. Named after the races in South America in the
 '50s.
 GT  Grand Turismo  Used in several serial numbers.
 I  Inter  Used in several serial numbers. Mainly early GT-cars.
 IC  in class  Finish in the class it competed
 LM  Le Mans  Used in some serial numbers. Named after the famous Le Mans races.
 M  Monza  Used in several serial numbers.
 MD  Mondial  Used in several serial numbers.
 MI  Monza Indianapolis  Used in some serial numbers. The cars were specially made for Indianapolis.
 MM  Mille Miglia  A number of Ferraris were specially made and named after the Mille Miglia race
 event. Also used at the end of serial numbers.
 OA  overall  overall finish
 S  Sport  Used in several serial numbers. Sport versions of road cars.
 SA  Superamerica  Used in several serial numbers.
 SF  Superfast  Used in several serial numbers.
 TF  Targa Florio or Tipo
 Formula		  Used in several serial numbers. Specially for cars which raced in the Targa Florio.
 The Tipo Formula was only for the 625 TF, a car derived of the Formula 1 car.
 TR  Testa Rossa  Used in several serial numbers. Means red head.
 Vetroresina  fibreglass  Some cars had fibreglass bodies like the first series of 308 GTB.
